Portal Messaging Guidelines
I value staying connected with you and want to make sure our communication is effective and sustainable. To keep the portal useful for everyone, please follow these guidelines:
Appropriate for the portal: brief updates, quick clarifications, medication refill requests, or sharing test results I’ve requested.
Not appropriate for the portal: in depth discussions of new health concerns, detailed treatment questions, or issues requiring more than a quick clarification. These are best addressed in a scheduled visit so I can give you the attention and care they deserve.
Response time: I do my best to reply within 2–3 business days. Portal messages are not for urgent issues. Please call 911 or go to the ER for emergencies.
Extended messaging: If a message requires significant time to review, multiple back-and-forth exchanges, or functions like a visit, I’ll ask that we schedule a formal appointment.
